No one is born asexual in biological, psychological, or relational terms. On the contrary, sex and sexuality are inseparable components of the human person: they help shape personality, influence patterns of behavior and relationships, and need to be integrated in a manner appropriate to each state of life. In consecrated life, religious are further called to integrate sex and sexuality with a life of celibate chastity for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Adopting a holistic approach, this course explores sex and sexuality from biological, psychological, Christian moral, and consecrated-chastity perspectives, with the aim of applying these insights to the mature and fruitful living of religious chastity. The course will include both theoretical input and practical discussion.
